Pajama Club
from Auckland, New Zealand
Biography
Born out of a series of relatively low-key jam sessions in their Auckland, New Zealand domicile, the Pajama Club were formed by the husband-and-wife duo of Neil and Sharon Finn. Neil, who had just come off of a fine year that saw the release of Intriguer, the sixth studio album from Kiwi pop legends Crowded House, spent each session behind the drum kit, while Sharon handled the bass. After laying down tracks in their home studio, Neil and Sharon brought producer and songwriter Sean Donnelly and Alana Skyring into the mix, and the Pajama Club became a physical entity. In 2011 the newly minted quartet booked a short U.S. summer tour (including opening slots with Wilco), in anticipation of the release of the group's eponymous debut album in September of that year. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
