Biography
Though proficient on a myriad of instruments, including piano, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, concertina, and even saxophone, Irish multi-instrumentalist Steve Wickham is best known for his fiddle and violin work, most notably as a longstanding member of venerable Irish folk-rockers the Waterboys. Born in Dublin, Wickham has appeared as a featured instrumentalist on numerous songs and albums from the likes of Elvis Costello, Hothouse Flowers, Sinéad O'Connor, World Party, U2, Sharon Shannon, and Declan O'Rourke. In 2004 Wickham released his solo debut, the instrumental Geronimo, which was named after his violin. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
