Biography
Founded in the dawning days of the '60s British beat boom, the Tea Time Four was a quartet led by singer Boz Burrell, who also played rhythm guitar. They became a top band in Norfolk and had a reputation for challenging the better-known acts for whom they opened. The group, which specialized in performing a jazzy style of American RB, underwent several membership changes, with players such as Mike Prior and Fats Dean passing through their lineup. Their big move came in 1965 when they relocated to London in an effort to make the big time and added keyboard player Ian McLagan to their lineup. His arrival coincided with a name change to the Boz People, showcasing their lead singer, and it was under that name that they got a recording contract. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
