Band. New Orleans group founded by Theogene Baquet in 1880, then by George Moret and Pete Bocage. It varied in size from 10 to 12 pieces, and was one of the earliest New Orleans brass bands. It played both written scores and head arrangements of marches, dance tunes, dirges and hymns. Some of the city's greatest traditional musicians, among them Alphonse Picou, Willie Humphrey, Luis Tio and Honore Dutrey played for the group during its tenure. It disbanded in 1931. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi
