Biography
A soulful vocalist, Dinah Jane is best known as a founding member of Fifth Harmony, the all-girl pop group that formed on The X Factor in 2011. Jane and her Fifth Harmony bandmates left the show as break-out stars and issued three Top Five Billboard 200 albums, beginning with 2015's Reflection, and scoring hits like "Worth It," and "Work from Home." In 2018, she launched her solo career with the single "Bottled Up."

Born Dinah Jane Milika Ilaisaane Hansen Amasio in Santa Ana, California in 1997, Jane grew up in a large family of Polynesian ancestry. Interested in performing at a young age, she made one of her earliest her professional appearances singing the National Anthem at age seven. At age 15, she successfully auditioned for the second season of Fox's The X Factor singing Beyoncé's "If I Were a Boy." Although she was booted off during the boot camp rounds of the show, she was eventually brought back by the judges to form the all-girl Fifth Harmony, joining fellow singers Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello. Together, they finished the competition in third place and signed with Syco Music/Epic, which issued their 2013 debut EP Better Together.

As a member of Fifth Harmony, Jane enjoyed chart success with the group's first two albums, 2015's Reflection, and 2016's 7/27. The albums peaked in the Top Five of the Billboard 200, and spawned the hit singles "Worth It" and "Work from Home," respectively. Following the departure of Cabello in 2016, Fifth Harmony released their third studio album, the eponymous Fifth Harmony, in 2017. Buoyed by the lead single "Down," it debuted at number four on the Billboard 200.

Also in 2017, Jane was featured on RedOne's single "Boom Boom," along with Daddy Yankee and French Montana. By May 2018, Fifth Harmony went on indefinite hiatus to allow the individual members to pursue their own projects. That same year, Jane signed a recording contract with L.A. Reid's Hitco label and issued her debut solo single, "Bottled Up," featuring Marc E. Bassy and Ty Dolla $ign. A second single, "Retrograde," arrived in June of 2019. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
