Born Semaja Z. Render, he was raised in the city's south side. He started early in the rap game, writing with his brother, rapper Lil Keed, on early tracks such as "Trap Bunkin," an Atlanta club favorite. After appearing on 2016's Young Slime Mixtape, he released Super Squid the following year. He signed with Alamo Records for the release of his official debut, 2018's Hood Baby, which recruited Gunna, Lil Keed, HoodRich Pablo Juan, and more. Early the next year, he stepped it up with Crazy But It's True, scoring his first hit with the single "Da Real Hoodbabies."
