Biography
Though little known throughout the rest of the nation, Wilson Mower Pursuit was among the most popular live bands in their native Detroit during the late 1960s, often playing the famed Grande Ballroom. The group was perhaps most notable as a launching pad for frontwoman Shaun Murphy, a singer who began her career at Motown before later going on to join the cast of Hair; during the mid-1970s, she began recording as a back-up singer for Bob Seger, and also worked with the likes of Meat Loaf, Eric Clapton, Bruce Hornsby, the Moody Blues and Michael Bolton. In 1996, Murphy joined Little Feat. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
