Consisting of members of the bands Pill and Eaters, New York-based P.E. mixes post-industrial electronics, arty post-punk, and cautiously optimistic poetry on their 2020 debut, Person. A more danceable, pop-influenced second LP, The Leather Lemon, appeared in 2022.

Veronica Torres, Jonathan Campolo, and Benjamin Jaffe of Brooklyn post-punk experimentalists Pill began performing improvisational shows with Eaters' Jonathan Schenke and Robert Jones during the late 2010s. The five musicians began recording together in July 2018, shaping fragmentary electronics, blurting saxophones, and giddy, sometimes confrontational vocals into quasi-pop songs. The full-length Person was finished in spring of 2019, and the track "Top Ticket" was released later in the year, along with a remix by Liars. Person was issued by Wharf Cat Records in March 2020. A limited vinyl pressing contained a bonus cassette called Sick, Sad, Fun!
