Atlanta-bred rapper Germ vaulted from social media freestyles to underground rap notoriety, amassing millions of streams and a cult following with his nasal delivery, dark lyrics, and aggressive production. Early work with Fat Nick and Pouya spun into collaborations with $uicideboy$, who signed him to their G*59 label. He issued his mixtape Germ Has a Deathwish in 2019, and broke onto the U.S. charts in 2022 with the third installment of his hit $uicideboy$ joint EP series, DIRTIESTNASTIEST$UICIDE.

Born in Florida to Haitian parents, he grew up in Atlanta skateboarding and listening to Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Future, and Three 6 Mafia. In 2013, Germ posted a video of one of his freestyles to social media, and it caught the eyes of fellow Floridians Fat Nick and Pouya, who recruited him for "Drop Em' Off." He appeared on various projects over the following years, which introduced him to $uicideboy$. Along with the New Orleans duo, Germ recorded DIRTYNASTY$UICIDE (2016) and DIRTIERNASTIER$UICIDE (2017). The fortuitous relationship also lead to a signing with their label G*59 in 2018. His debut for the label, Germ Has a Deathwish, arrived the next year.

2020 was a busy year for the young rapper. In addition to the Bad Shit EP and a collaborative EP with Lil Gnar, Big Bad Gnar Shit 2, he also issued a full-length, The Hijinx Tape. 2021 was marked by personal tragedy, which he processed on the track "Survivor's Guilt." Germ returned in 2022 with the Cold Summer EP and another collaboration with $uicideboy$, the concluding chapter to their EP trilogy, DIRTIESTNASTIEST$UICIDE, which landed just outside the Top 50 on the Billboard 200. ~ Neil Z.
