DJ Starscream (no doubt inspired by the Transformers character of the same name) is actually Sid Wilson, a 27-year-old turntablist from Des Moines, IA. He got his start with the turntablist crew Sound Proof Coalition in the early '90s, which eventually made their escape from the Midwest and won acclaim from the West Coast hip-hop circuit. But it was his tenure in alternative metal theater troupe Slipknot under the name #(0) that won him recognition and celebrity. He also performs in the alterna-hop troupe AMPT, which features members of Biohazard and DJ Rob Gee on vocals.
