Biography
Irish expatriate singer/songwriter and playwright Larry Kirwan is best known as the leader of the band Black 47, formed in 1989, which plays Celtic-tinged folk-rock and has recorded for several labels, including SBK, Mercury, Shanachie, and Gadfly. Kirwan has also written a series of plays that have been produced in the U.S. and Europe, five of which were published in the book -Mad Angels (1993). In 1998, he released his first solo album, the children's collection Keltic Kids. Kilroy Was Here, released in 2001, was his first solo album for adults. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
