SaintSaviour
Biography
Called the "performer of her generation" by Groove Armada's Andy Cato, the eclectic sounds of singer/songwriter SaintSaviour, aka Becky Jones, sit somewhere between the operatic vocals of Maria Callas and the indie-disco leanings of Beth Ditto. Having performed solo on the working men's club circuit from a young age, her original ambition was to be a session singer, but after being encouraged by a musician friend, she started to write her own songs. After fronting the RGBs, the Slips, and Joe Will Ask, she released her debut single, a cover of Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart in 2008. A year later, she sent a demo to Groove Armada, who were so impressed they invited her to write and record tracks for their Black Light album, and perform with them at the Glastonbury and Lovebox Festivals, as well as their own headline tour. In 2010, she released her second single, Woman Scorned, through Euphonios Records. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
