Biography
A Los Angeles-based soft rock band best known for their certified gold 1972 hit "Precious and Few," Climax was founded in 1971 by vocalist Sonny Geraci, who had previously helmed the garage rock group the Outsiders. Joining Geraci was former Outsiders guitarist Walter Nims, session player Steve York (bass), Virgil Weber (keyboards), and Robert Neilson (drums). Shortly after forming, the band inked a deal with the Carousel label and released the Nims-penned ballad that would become their calling card. The song peaked at number three, and was followed by a second, less successful single "Life and Breath." The group's 1972 eponymous debut album would be their one and only release. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
