Biography
Sonny Geraci first made an impact singing lead for the Cleveland rock quintet the Outsiders, scoring a number five hit single in 1966 with Time Won't Let Me, a song destined to become a staple on collections from the period for years to come. The group would not duplicate that feat, but they would chart another trio of Top 40 hits that year, including a version of the Isley Brothers' Respectable. In 1972, Geraci would achieve the rare distinction of having another Top Ten single with a different act when he put together the Los Angeles-based band Climax and their song Precious and Few climbed to the top of the charts, earning a gold record. It would be Geraci's last time in the national spotlight as he would eventually return to Cleveland doing local performances and later perform on the nostalgia circuit, but he had already secured a footnote in chart history. ~ Tom Demalon, Rovi
