JT Roach
from Madison, WI
Biography
A Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who blends hushed indie folk with soulful electronic textures in the style of Bon Iver and James Vincent McMorrow, JT Roach forged a successful career writing for acts like Jason Derulo and Emily Warren before launching his own solo venture with the 2017 release of his debut EP, Witches Lake.
A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Roach played guitar and sang throughout high school and college, eventually heading to Chicago to pursue a music career. Following a cross-country jump to L.A., he signed a publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis and quickly made a name for himself in industry songwriting circles writing for artists like Emily Warren, Jason Derulo, Nicky Romero, Krewella, and Jake Miller. In 2017, Roach launched his own recording career with "Tipsy Love," a low-key, harmony-stacked acoustic track that served as the lead single for his debut EP, Witches Lake, which appeared later that year. Subsequent singles like 2018's "Chapel" and "Symmetry" followed in a similar vein of lush, melancholic folk-pop. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
