Reignwolf formed in Seattle, Washington in 2011, with the initial lineup featuring guitarist and singer Jordan Cook, drummer Joseph Braley, and David Stitch Rapaport playing what he calls the buitar, a combination guitar and bass. The hard-working trio wasted no time making a name for themselves as a live act, and in 2013, they released their debut single, a digital track titled "Are You Satisfied?" The song received over three million plays on major streaming services, and Reignwolf's reputation went nationwide. They landed a spot opening for the Pixies on their 2013 tour, and they were invited to appear at major festivals in the United States (Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits) and abroad (Glastonbury, Download).
Before 2013 was out, Reignwolf had released a second digital single, "In the Dark" (which racked up over 1.5 million streaming plays) and a third, "Lonely Sunday," followed in 2014. Also in 2014, the band was invited to be Black Sabbath's opening act for tours of North America, Italy, and Poland, and were profiled in Rolling Stone in their feature "Ten New Artists You Need to Know." Reignwolf teamed with the UMG-distributed Monkeywrench label to issue their fourth single, 2016's "Hardcore," and the same year, they were featured on an episode of the cable television series Roadies, created by Cameron Crowe. In 2018, Reignwolf dropped the single "Wanna Don't Wanna," and set out on a headlining tour of North America in support; by this time, David Stitch Rapaport had left the band, and Stacey James Kardash had signed on as their bassist. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
