White Boiz is a creative partnership between Strong Arm Steady rapper Krondon and producer/rapper Shafiq Husayn, two major figures in Los Angeles' multi-genre music community. Seeds were planted after the former showed up at gigs by the latter's Sa-Ra, and the two had in-depth discussions -- regarding race and spirituality, among other aspects of everyday living -- over the course of 18 months prior to recording a note for Neighborhood Wonderful. The album, featuring contributions from Jimetta Rose, Thundercat, Anderson Paak, the Stepkids, Blu, and others, surfaced on the Stones Throw label in October 2015. Krondon did the majority of the rhyming, while Husayn handled the beats, typically eclectic constructions filled with chunky and low-key funk with occasional symphonic touches. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
