The Perfect English Weather is the duo of Simon and Wendy Pickles, who started the project in the mid-2010s as a home for songs that didn't quite fit with their janglier indie pop group, Popguns. Also based in Brighton, England, the five-piece had released its first record in over 15 years, Pop Fiction, in 2014. With a gentler sound that revealed bits of the Smiths and the Jam through stated influences 10,000 Maniacs, First Aid Kit, and the Go-Betweens, the Perfect English Weather issued Isobar Blues with Matinée Recordings in November 2016. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
