Biography
Pillar Point is the synth pop solo project of Seattle-based musician/songwriter Scott Reitherman. Previously founder and leader of the indie pop band Throw Me the Statue, he released two albums (2007's Moonbeams and 2009's Creaturesque) and an EP (2009's Purpleface) with the group before announcing in 2013 that he was shifting his attention to Pillar Point. The project's danceably wistful new wave revivalism was picked up by Polyvinyl, which released its eponymous debut LP in 2014. The follow-up, 2016's Marble Mouth, was produced by Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes and featured guests including drummers Cameron Gardner (Washed Out, Gringo Star) and Philip Mayer (Kishi Bashi, David Wax Museum) for an invigorated rhythm section. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
