Hailing from Medellín, Piso 21 features the talents of vocalist Pablo Mejía (aka Pablito), vocalist/guitarist Juan David Huertas (aka the Profe), vocalist/guitarist David Escobar (aka Dim), and vocalist Juan David Castaño (aka the LLane). In 2012, they released their full-length debut, Piso 21, which featured the single "Correr el Riesgo." They quickly got attention, earning a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. More singles followed, including 2014's "Suele Suceder" and 2015's "Quítate la Pena." A year later, the group signed with Warner Music Mexico and in 2018 delivered their sophomore full-length, Ubuntu. Buoyed by the singles "Me Llamas" and "Besándote," the record debuted at number 13 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.
In 2019, Piso 21 teamed up with Myke Towers for the single "Una Vida Para Recordar." A year later, they delivered "Dulcecitos" with Zion Lennox and "Más de la Una" with Maluma, the latter of which hit number three on the Latin Pop charts. All three songs were included on the group's third album, 2021's El Amor en los Tiempos del Perreo, which reached number nine on Billboard's Latin Pop chart. More singles followed, including "Equivocado" with Santa Fe Klan and "Los Cachos" with Manuel Turizo, leading up to the release of their fourth full-length, 2022's 777.
