W-X is an experimental solo project of Tim Presley, a California-based musician best known as the founder of psychedelic rock bands White Fence and Darker My Love, and a former member of Strange Boys and the Fall. Unlike his primarily guitar-centric other projects, his work as W-X finds him experimenting with drum machines and synthesizers, creating rambling, messy free-form soundscapes that recall the collage-like experimental rock of Faust (circa The Faust Tapes) as well as the blunted beat excursions of Madlib.
