Muldrow (aka Ms. One, Pattie Blingh, and Jyoti) and Perkins (aka Declaime) were first heard together on a batch of 2006 LPs: Perkins' Expressions, Oh No's Exodus into Unheard Rhythms, and Eric Lau's Presents Dudley and Friends. In 2007, they were co-billed under their full names on Beautiful Mindz, presented by 2tall, and released the first true GD album, The Message Uni Versa, on Look Records. They worked together on numerous sessions, officially launched their SomeOthaShip label in 2009, and the following year released an album of the same name, though it was through Mello Music Group and credited to Georgia A. Muldrow & Declaime. The second GD album, The Lighthouse, followed on SomeOthaShip in 2013.
After another pile of solo releases, guest appearances, and productions, Muldrow and Perkins returned as GD in 2019 with Black Love War, on which they got a little help from producers Oh No and Mike Keys and featured the likes of Aloe Blacc and LaToiya Williams. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
