Chi Cheng is the bassist of Southern California alternative metal band the Deftones. In fall 2000, Cheng made his solo debut with the spoken-word release Bamboo Parachute. The 25-track album featuring Cheng's eclectic poetry was made available only at Deftones shows and through the band's website. Half the proceeds of the album went to homeless teens and WEAVE, a Sacramento-based nonprofit agency specializing in domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, and victim assistance. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
