				Biography

When Brian Jackson left the indie underground band I Am Spoonbender in spring 2000, he yearned for a more meaningful, concrete project. Luckily, he met singer and visual artist Phoenix Perry. Both were attending an art exhibition for electronic pioneer Morton Subotnick at the Pond Gallery in San Francisco, so immediately a peerless pair was in the making. In February 2001, Jackson and Perry mixed their ideas of "post-futurism" and formed the obscure techno/electro-wave act Memory Systems. Their eight-song debut, Ad Placement for the Collective Unconscious, was self-released on Memory Systems' own label, Form Records, in 2002. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
