Biography
A Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer, John Congleton, in addition to his impressive behind-the-board work, was the frontman for nervy post-punk rockers the Paper Chase and, more recently, the equally incendiary the Nighty Nite. Between 1998 and 2010 the Texas native released five albums with the Paper Chase, and during that time he also worked in the studio with a bevy of top-notch artists, including St. Vincent, the Roots/Erykah Badu, Swans, War on Drugs, and Mountain Goats, to name just a few. After the dissolution of the Paper Chase in 2010, Congleton formed the Nighty Nite and issued a four-song EP, Dimples, via Bandcamp and Graveface Records. The Nighty Nite's full-length debut, the Fat Possum-issued Until the Horror Goes, followed in early 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
