Biography
Guitarist Todd Clouser is a forward-thinking and adventurous musician with a bent toward modern creative jazz and genre-bending styles of improvised music. A Minneapolis native, Clouser attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, after which he toured as member of the rock band 4 Letter Man. Around 2006, Clouser relocated to Baja, Mexico to rejuvenate and redirect his musical path. Citing such diverse influences as Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Parker, Frank Zappa, Nels Cline, Miles Davis, and others, Clouser released his debut solo album, Baja, in 2007. He returned a year later with Beatnik Highway. Clouser's inventive and eclectic jazz-influenced music eventually caught the ear of the similarly inclined New York trumpeter Steven Bernstein (Sex Mob), who toured Mexico with Clouser in 2009 and 2010 and appeared with Clouser's A Love Electric ensemble on his 2010 eponymous release. In 2012, Todd Clouser's A Love Electric, featuring trumpeter Adam Meckler as well as a guest appearance by Bernstein, released 20th Century Folk Selections. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
