				Biography

The house band for Henry Stone's Miami-based T.K. Disco label after KC the Sunshine Band, Foxy was based around Ish Ledesma (lead vocals), Arnold Pasiero (bass), Richie Puente, Jr. (percussion), Charlie Murchiano (keyboards), and Joe Galdo (drums). Even while working for T.K., they supplemented their income by gigging; it was at a club in Maryland that the idea for "Get Off," a number one R&B hit, first struck. The boys worked the number up back in Miami at T.K.'s studio, adding female vocals for the chorus. The subsequent release, "Rrrrrrock," did little, and they disbanded after recording three LPs in three years: Get Off, Hot Numbers, and Party Boys. Ledesma's next ventures were the band Oxo ("Whirly Girl") and a solo album, and then he went full-time into producing other artists. Foxy anthologies include Get Off: The Best of Foxy (1995) and Get Off: Hot Numbers (1998). ~ Andrew Hamilton, Rovi
