Biography
Chicago-based Glenn Kotche grew up in nearby Roselle, IL, where he showed an early fascination and affinity for drums and percussion. He enrolled in the University of Kentucky's prestigious percussion program and, after graduating, began playing in numerous combos and groups before landing in Wilco in 2001. Kotche appeared on Wilco's critically acclaimed Yankee Hotel Foxtrot album (2001), the follow-up, 2002's A Ghost Is Born, and 2005's double-disc live set, Kicking Television. Kotche is also a member of the trio Loose Fur with fellow Wilco member Jeff Tweedy and Jim O'Rourke and the experimental jazz duo On Fillmore with bassist Darin Gray. Gifted with an uncanny awareness of musical time and space and the compositional skills to match, Kotche has released three solo projects, Introducing (2002), Next (also 2002), and Mobile, which was released in 2006 on Nonesuch Records. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
