Ernie Lancaster
November 30, 1953 - July 17, 2014 (age 60)
Biography
Electric blues guitarist Ernie Lancaster played on albums by numerous artists throughout the '80s and '90s and released a solo album, Ernestly, in 1991. More than anything, Lancaster was perhaps best known as Root Boy Slim's guitarist in the Sex Change Band. He also played guitar for such artists as Ace Moreland, Kenny Neal, Lucky Peterson, Noble Watts, and Rev. Billy C. Wirtz. His solo album, Ernestly, featured the guitarist leading a small band through ten entirely instrumental songs that he had written. Over the course of the album, Lancaster veers from instrumental blues-rock to jazz-pop, and soul-jazz. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
