Biography
Following the 1997 dissolution of their previous band, power pop hitmakers the Gin Blossoms, singer Robin Wilson and drummer Philip Rhodes formed the Gas Giants with guitarist Daniel Henzerling. The group's debut album, From Beyond the Back Burner, appeared on Atomic Pop in 1999, and leadoff single Quitter found some success on modern rock radio. The Gas Giants' popularity was still dwarfed by the band that spawned them, however, and the Giants announced an indefinite hiatus in 2001. Later that year, the Gin Blossoms reconvened (minus Rhodes) and resumed touring, eventually releasing Major Lodge Victory in 2006. ~ Jason Ankeny & Andrew Leahey, Rovi
