Biography
The Nashville Cast is just that, a loose configuration of actors, singers, and musicians who are part of the cast of the ABC television series Nashville, which had its debut on October 10, 2012. The series chronicles the lives of various fictional movers and shakers swept up in Nashville's music industry, and the songs they sing, write, sell, and share are a big part of the show's appeal. The various songs and performances, both covers and originals, are part of an ongoing release series handled by Big Machine Records, and in the spring of 2014, it was announced that members of the cast, although not its two major stars, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, would be touring and performing shows together leading up to the show's second season finale in the second week of May. Among those participating in this mini four-city tour were Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack, and Will Chase. The cast topped off their second season with the release of a Christmas album in 2014. That same year saw the release of The Music of Nashville: Season 3, Vol. 1, with Vol. 2 and The Music of Nashville: Season 4, Vol. 1, arriving the following year. The fourth season's second volume dropped in 2016 and reached number two on the U.K. country charts. ABC canceled the program in May 2016, but it was quickly picked up by CMT. The Music of Nashville: Season 5, Vol. 1 arrived in 2017, peaking in the Top 15 of both the country and soundtracks charts -- Vols. 2 and 3 arrived later that summer. February 2018 saw the release of Season 6, Vol. 1, with a second volume arriving later that July. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
