Biography
Ruth Moody is an Australian-born, Winnipeg, Manitoba-raised singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is the former lead singer of the Canadian roots band Scruj MacDuhk (which would later become the Duhks), and a founding member -- and one third -- of the internationally celebrated, Billboard-charting, Wailin' Jennys.
Moody's first solo album, The Garden, appeared in 2010 on Red House Records. It was nominated for a Juno. After the Wailin' Jennys released their Juno-winning Bright Morning Stars in 2011 and completed a world tour, Moody recorded her second solo offering, These Wilder Things, which featured contributions from Mark Knopfler, Jerry Douglas, Aiofe O'Donovan, and her bandmates.
