Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight of ODESZA first encountered Thomas Stell (Golden Features) in 2014, when both acts were performing at a music festival in Perth, Australia. The three individuals immediately bonded, kept in touch, and contacted each other whenever they came up with an idea for a musical collaboration. After several years of collaborating virtually, ODESZA stayed in Australia following their 2018 tour dates in the country, and the trio reconvened and settled in an isolated farm three hours south of Sydney. Following another weeklong session in Joshua Tree, California in 2019, BRONSON finished their self-titled debut album. Preceded by a limited 12" for the track "Bline," BRONSON was released by Ninja Tune in August 2020, featuring guest appearances by Gallant, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and lau.ra. It peaked at number five on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
