Biography
Big-band vocalist Joan Durell sang with several orchestras during the '50s, including bands led by Ray Anthony and Art Mooney. She married bandleader Ray Flory (her real name becoming Joan Fry Flory) in the early '50s and, later that decade, performed at the 1958 Monterey Jazz Festival. Durell retired from the music business in 1960, emerging only momentarily in the '80s to lead her own band. ~ Joslyn Layne, Rovi
