Chicago DJ Daniel Givens started performing in 1993 and has appeared with artists like Tricky, Tortoise, Femi Kuti, and Gil Scott-Heron. His works are a unique fusion of jazz, soul, worldbeat, and dub which spreads out into wide atmospheres, not unlike a cross between Sun Ra and Carl Craig.
